So, I have started over...watched the Mini-Series and am now into Season 2.0.

I had forgotten how much I loved the mini-series. I had not seen it, until after season 3.0. I purchased the Season 1 dvd and finally got to see it, along with most of season 1 for the first time. The writing and general story is just amazing. I also love season 2.0. Of course there are episodes that just do not stack up in my mind, but that is how any television show ends up. Even my truly beloved X-Files has episodes I don't mind skipping through.

I am watching the episode 'Resistance' right now. I love the irony of Tigh beating the Chief, accusing him of being a cylon. Knowing what we know now, that just makes this episode so much more entertaining.

One of the things that strikes me is the difference between the music between the first season and seasons 2-4.5. Bear truly enhanced the show with his compositions. I wish he had featured particular instruments more often (bassoon for one....I love the bassoon) but overall I truly have enjoyed the shift.

...and more cowbell...I always need more cowbell.

So...what are your favourite moments form the early days? Or later on? What is your take on the music?

The mini-series was right up there with their treatment of Dune, in my mind. You're right that it was a great re-telling of the original series. Greater drama and more heavily conflicted folks than 70's network TV would allow.
